What are the steps involved in the process of cement manufacturing?
- Cement Manufacturing Process Phases 1 Raw material extraction/ Quarry 2 Grinding, Proportioning and Blending 3 Pre-heater Phase 4 Kiln Phase 5 Cooling and Final Grinding 6 Packing & Shipping
What is the pre-heating process of cement making?
- Pre-heating of the material saves the energy and make plant environmental friendly. Kiln is a huge rotating furnace also called as the heart of cement making process. Here, raw material is heated up to 1450 ⁰C. This temperature begins a chemical reaction so called decarbonation.
How to manufacture Portland cement?
- The most common way to manufacture portland cement is through a dry method. The first step is to quarry the principal raw materials, mainly limestone, clay, and other materials. After quarrying the rock is crushed.
How is cement made in a cement plant?
- The heated air from the coolers is returned to the kilns, a process that saves fuel and increases burning efficiency. After the clinker is cooled, cement plants grind it and mix it with small amounts of gypsum and limestone. Cement is so fine that 1 pound of cement contains 150 billion grains.
